Photo booths are trending for weddings right now. And it’s super easy to create your own instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a photographer or other wedding vendor to do it for you.
All it takes is a few items, about $50 to put together, and your guests will have a great time posing. I did this for a recent wedding. I found most of my props online. I found a selection of great props at OrientalTrading.com — dry erase speech bubbles on a stick so guests could write what they want; big hair on a stick; and a great “photo booth” instruction sign to hang. I added some boas to complete the props.
I also purchased some goofy eyeglasses and some hats at a party store on clearance. Score! Instead of being $5-6 each, they were a buck. Check out the clearance section first to save the most money.
Then I simply covered a table with a tablecloth in the wedding color and arranged all items atop. Check out your event space for a brick wall or cool door to use as the backdrop. Voila! Instant photo booth. Guests use their own phones and share to social media using a hashtag designated by the bride and groom.
Music is another DIY thing you can do for your wedding. Check out our alphabetical list of instrumental songs you can use to create a unique playlist.
